This Addendum forms a part of and modifies the bidding requirements and proposed Contract Documents for the subject Project, dated 3/12/2013.
I. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
BID 39-1213 LANDSCAPING CONTRACT
(This outline summary does not supersede detailed scope and specifications found throughout the contract documents.)
Provide plant materials and installation for improvements to Beach Park. Provide and install new sprinkler system in parts of the park. Plants include trees, shrubs, ground cover, sod and grass seed. Sprinkler work is to be by a licensed plumber.
General Task Categories:
1. Coordinate with site and finish trades.
2. Establish planting beds base material and sub-grades
3. Provide excavation for large tree planting
4. Plant large trees
5. Sprinkler main & installation
6. Install sprinkler branches, valves
7. Plant shrubs
8. Plant dune areas (alternate only)
9. Coordinate finish grading with site and finish trades
10. Coordinate/ activate finish heads and controls with sprinkler installer.
11. Install Sod
12. Seed
13. Provide plant stock. (as approved by designer)
14. Plant stock has No guarantee.
15. Not in Contract (NIC), provide flagpole and install.
16. Not in Contract (NIC), provide furniture, bike racks, bases and install.

TOWN OF GUILFORD
INVITATION TO BID #39-1213
JACOBS BEACH LANDSCAPING
The Town of Guilford is seeking competitive bids for a Contractor to perform landscaping services to the Town beach known as Jacobs Beach located off of Seaside Avenue, in accordance with the bid specifications. Sealed Bids will be due on Friday March 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Office of the First Selectman, Second Floor, Town Hall, 31 Park Street, Guilford, Connecticut 06437, at which time they will be opened publicly. Bids received after this date and time will be rejected. Sealed Bid proposals should be labeled with bid number and bid title. Printed bid specifications may be obtained in the Office of the First Selectman, for a non-refundable purchase price of $50.00 by check made payable to the Town of Guilford or by compact disc (CD) (to be printed by bidder) for purchase price of $15.00.
The minimum rates to be paid labor of the various classifications on this project shall be in accordance with current schedule of Prevailing Wages as established by the State of Connecticut, Department of Labor, Wage and Workplace Standards Division. DAS work Classifications Sitework or Landscaping or General Building Construction (Group A).
A voluntary pre-bid site visit will be held at Jacobs Beach on Thursday March 14, 2013 at 2:45 p.m.
Any questions regarding the specifications of the area may be directed, in writing only, to Rick Maynard, Director of Parks and Recreation at maynardr@ci.guilford.ct.us with a copy to the Purchasing Department at millmanp@ci.guilford.ct.us. Addendums can be accessed from the Town of Guilford website and the Department of Administrative Services Procurement website.
Each bidder will be required to submit to the Office of the First Selectman, their original proposal with two (2) copies and a bid bond or cashier’s check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the base bid. Each bidder shall honor the bid price for ninety (90) business days from the date of the bid opening, without modification. Upon award of the bid, the winning bidder shall be bound by the bid proposal price throughout the contract period.
The Town of Guilford reserves the right to reject any or all bids; or to waive defects in same, if it deems such to be in the best interest of the Town.
