Additional Description |
The State is contracting for services to provide support to the Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee (JJAC), a Governor-appointed committee responsible for overseeing the distribution and use of federal funds under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act in Connecticut. The purpose of the JJAC is to prevent delinquency and improve Connecticut’s juvenile justice system.
The JJAC is responsible for meeting four federal mandates concerning juveniles in Connecticut’s juvenile justice system. One of these mandates is addressing Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC) with the juvenile justice system. The product of this contract will be a fourth study of DMC in Connecticut.
The selected contractor will conduct the study of DMC in Connecticut’s juvenile justice system using the same methodology as in the first three studies, with an additional analysis component studying judges’ decisions concerning secure detention. |
