Additional Description |
This funding opportunity will enhance police/community relations by improving interactions between police and youth. The objective is to increase the numbers of police officers who are experienced and comfortable working and interacting with youth. Local public and non-profit agencies serving the cities of Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven and Waterbury are eligible to apply for one time funding of up to $10,000 for October 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. It is expected that 4 to 6 projects will be awarded funding. The projects must serve no more than 25 youth through a series of activities providing positive opportunities for police and youth to interact. Participating police officers are encouraged to attend “Effective Police Interactions with Youth,” a one-day no-fee training offered by the JJAC. See online at www.ct.gov/opm/jjydtraining for more information on the training. |
