Workplace Violence Prevention Training


In accordance with C.G.S. Section 4a-2a all state employees are required to attend Workplace Violence Prevention training. The goal is to create safe respectful workplaces, identify prohibited behaviors, and recognize early warning signs for potential workplace violence incidents.


In this class, participants will learn:  


  • What workplace violence is, and what is prohibited

  • What early warning signs for violence are and how to help prevent it

  • What to do in a workplace violence emergency and what to do in a threatening situation

  • Critical roles of and support available for supervisors, managers and employees if and when incidents occur.                                     


 Please consult your supervisor prior to registering for class.

The Workplace Violence Prevention Training is now available as an online self-paced class, through the CT Education Academy (CEA).


 Prior to registering for class, please be sure your agency has access to the CEA – CT Distance Learning Consortium.
